Our RV Noosfera is already in Antarctica!
Yesterday, December 29, 2024, the flagship of the Ukrainian research fleet arrived at its first destination – Arctowski Polish Antarctic station. It is located on King George Island.
The unloading of the vessel will continue for the next few days (depending on weather conditions). Therefore, most likely, the Noosphere team and the participants of the seasonal Ukrainian expedition will celebrate the New Year near King George.
Therefore, the road to Akademik Vernadsky station will be waiting for them.
Let us recall that in mid-December, RV Noosfera set off for its fourth Antarctic season. Like all previous ones, it is being conducted in cooperation with the Polish Antarctic Program.
Also, this season is the most international of all the previous one. It includes collaborations with the USA and Spain, joint research with the Czech Republic and the implementation of two EU Horizon Europe projects.
