Polar explorers from Akademik Vernadsky station congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day.
They noted that even 15 thousand kilometers from home, Ukraine is with them everywhere: in their everyday life, holidays, among the snow and ice of Antarctica, the waters of the Southern Ocean. Because, first of all, it is in their hearts.
Members of the 30th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition emphasized: “We are proud that we can develop Ukrainian science in Antarctica, be involved in global research and solving global problems.”
They thanked those who gained our Independence 34 years ago and those who have been fighting for it on the front lines for over 11 years.
“And special gratitude to our ‘military penguins’ – polar explorers in the Defense Forces, of which there are now more than 30,” the statement says.
