On December 1, 2020, on Antarctica Day, a new competition for schoolchildren presented by the National Antarctic Scientific Center has been started. It is on December 1 that the world celebrates the sixty-first anniversary of the signing of the Antarctic Treaty, which defines the legal status of the continent and the types of activities on it.
Schoolchildren of all ages are invited to create greetings to polar explorers by December 25 – it can be a drawing, photo collage, video, animation, etc.
The best greetings will be sent to the team of winterers at Akademik Vernadsky station.
“Our colleagues, who have been away from their families and the homeland for 9 months, would be very pleased to receive greetings from the mainland and at the same time to see how Ukrainian schoolchildren imagine the New Year’s celebration on the ice continent, “said Evgen Dykyi, Director of the National Antarctic Scientific Center.
The authors of the 5 best works, according to the NASC jury, will receive prizes by post. And for the first place we will also present an online meeting with polar explorers. The most interesting works will be published on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
