Promoting Antarctic research and the work of Ukrainians on the icy continent is one of the important areas of the NASC’s work.

All materials are presented in Ukrainian only at present.

In this section, you will find various educational materials for schoolchildren, students, teachers, lecturers, and anyone interested in Antarctica, its unique nature, and research at the Vernadsky Research Station.

Antarctica: six essays for those who want to know more

The first large-scale popular science publication in Ukrainian about Antarctica and the history of Ukraine in Antarctica, developed by experts in various fields of research in this region.
The book contains basic modern information about the sixth continent – its geography, geology, flora and fauna. Particular attention is paid to the history of Antarctic exploration, the protection of its amazing nature and, of course, to the Ukrainian Akademik Vernadsky station.
